The energy technology cluster programme is built for the needs of companies focusing on energy technology. The programme centres around industry that manufactures machinery and equipment needed in energy production, use and distribution, and companies that provide services for the industry. This area has substantial growth opportunities for international business.

The Vaasa region has an internationally solid energy technology business centre, which we are strengthening further through projects designed and implemented by us.

Our focus areas in the cluster programme include

  • electricity distribution and ICT in electrical engineering
  • electric drives
• industrial energy solutions
  • the energy market
• distributed energy generation
  • wind and other distributed electricity generation

In the cluster programme, we co-operate with the other contributors to the programme. The networks of contributors include Finland’s key energy technology companies and research and educational institutes.
