The Cornerstone of Hitachi Energy Park Laid – A Historic Milestone for a Historic Investment
The cornerstone of Hitachi Energy Park was laid on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Vikby, Korsholm. With an investment of 180 million dollars, a new production and technology center of over 40,000 square meters is being built in the Vaasa region. This will strengthen the company’s ability to meet the rapidly growing demand for power technology solutions driven by the green energy transition and support the shift toward a carbon-neutral energy future. The new center will double transformer production capacity and contribute to Finland’s electricity supply security as well as the export of clean energy technology.
The new Hitachi Energy Park production and technology center will include a state-of-the-art transformer factory, doubling the production and testing capacity of transformers in Finland. The center will also feature modern office and testing facilities for the company’s professionals in electrification projects, automation, and software development. As part of the investment, Hitachi Energy will recruit approximately 200 new employees in Finland.
