Bioenergy

The region of Vaasa is one of the main forerunners when it comes to bioenergy

Stormossen was the first waste management company in Finland that began producing biogas from organic waste. The waste incineration agency, Westenergy burn unsorted mixed waste from the region, and produce electricity and thermal energy from it. At Vaskiluodon Voima, a power plant which uses bioenergy, there is the world’s largest biomass gasification plant.
