The ecosystem agreements are a part of the Government’s initiatives aimed at positioning Finland as the world’s foremost environment for experimentation and innovation by 2030. These agreements bolster the establishment of appealing competence clusters and innovation hubs, alongside fostering the integration of Finnish actors into international RDI networks and value chains. They are intended to cultivate innovation ecosystems, characterized by close collaborative networks, reinforcing key areas of expertise, and enhancing the impact of research and innovation (RDI) in an urban-oriented manner.
The aim of the project is to coordinate the implementation of the Vaasa region’s ecosystem agreement and the execution of the EnergyVaasa cluster strategy. The project strengthens regional collaboration, supports the systematic advancement of RDI investments, and establishes a sustainable structure for the development of regional innovation activities, thereby reinforcing the Vaasa region’s position as a national and international leader in innovation.
At the core of the coordination efforts are impact, preparedness, activation of RDI investments, and the strengthening of companies’ capabilities—especially in leveraging EU funding—by building clearer pathways to international financing opportunities. The project serves as a platform for stakeholder collaboration, enhancing national, Nordic, and international cooperation, and lays the groundwork for long-term growth in innovation activities.
