The project develops and pilots an AI-assisted platform that helps companies and organisations in the EnergyVaasa ecosystem identify suitable research, development and innovation funding opportunities – for example the funding instruments of Business Finland, the Economic Development Centre and the EU. The platform also supports the preparation of funding applications and helps find partners within the energy cluster. Companies and organisations in the region test the platform in practice and contribute to its development through guided pilot periods.

The project aims to lower the threshold for participating in RDI activities, make it easier to find and apply for funding, and strengthen RDI collaboration between regional actors. The lessons learned from the experiment will be utilised both regionally and as part of national efforts to develop RDI collaboration.

EnergyVaasa Excellence is an experiment funded by Sitra and part of the collaboration between Sitra and the InnoCities, in which challenges in RDI collaboration between companies and research organisations are addressed through practical experiments. The project is implemented by Merinova Technology Centre.

The project runs from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026.
