On Friday, 21 November 2025, Merinova welcomed its second Morning Coffee Guest, Mats Warg (Director, Automation) from VEO. The concept aims to highlight the expertise of local companies and professionals in a relaxed morning coffee setting, and this time our table was joined by a long-standing influencer in the energy sector. Mats has been with VEO for 25 years and currently leads the company’s automation division, which has grown significantly over the years and today employs around 50 specialists. The main theme of the discussion centered on the major transformation taking place in the energy industry and VEO’s position at the heart of it.
VEO Oy
VEO Oy is a Nordic technology company specializing in energy automation and electrification, known for its ability to deliver comprehensive solutions for power plants, industrial sites, and energy system modernizations. The company employs more than 500 people, and its turnover is approaching 150 million euros.
The company’s history highlights strong Ostrobothnian engineering expertise and a capacity to grow alongside technological shifts. VEO is owned by its former and current employees, which makes it an independent, agile operator that genuinely reflects the people behind it.
Over the decades, VEO has played a key role in electrifying hydropower, wind power, the marine industry, and industrial processes. The company’s philosophy is guided by three principles: quality, transparency, and continuous improvement. Today, its strategic focus areas include energy system modernization, battery technologies, renewable solutions, and lifecycle services for delivered systems.
