Merinova’s Morning Coffee Guest: Prevas Oy

On Friday, 14 November 2025, Merinova launched its new Morning Coffee Guest concept, designed to highlight local actors, companies, and experts through relaxed, insightful conversation. Merinova invites professionals to its breakfast table whose perspectives, experiences, and everyday insights offer valuable understanding of the region’s vitality and the development of its industries.

Our first guest was Timo Hanhimäki (Director, Digitalization) from Prevas Oy. Timo brought with him extensive experience in automation, industrial projects, and advancing digitalization—showing just how central these themes are to the future of industry.

Around the Coffee Table

The morning discussion spanned industrial digitalization and future outlooks. Topics included

🔹 how digitalization is visible in today’s industry
🔹 the role automation and cloud services already play
🔹 how developments in robotics and AI are opening new opportunities
🔹 what kind of expertise future Vaasa and its industrial areas will require

Timo has a long background in automation and industrial systems. His examples clearly illustrated how much the field has changed, how it has not changed and where it is heading.
