In addition to a university degree suitable for the position, successful performance of the position requires experience in project management and administration, knowledge of the energy sector and methodological skills in co-creation.
We hope you have a development-oriented attitude, good communication and cooperation skills, and the ability to work and make decisions independently. Swedish language skills are an advantage.

The new energy economy project in the Vaasa region
About 30 % of Finland’s carbon dioxide emissions come from energy production. The carbon-free forms of production of the future will be nuclear-, hydro-, wind- and solarpower. Their commercial development depends on the successful interconnection of different energy systems. At best, sector coupling can increase the long-term storage of electricity and solve the problem of balancing electricity production and consumption related to variable wind and solar power.
In the future, the energy system will be more decentralized, data-driven and weather-dependent.
The business opportunities brought about by the energy transition are manifold. However, without multiple levels of orchestration and knowledge sharing, there is a risk that most of the benefits will flow elsewhere.
The aim of the project is to ensure that companies are sufficiently prepared to take full advantage of the energy transition, for example, by distributing up-to-date information, creating preconditions for sector coupling and joint projects, and ensuring that the cluster’s interests are represented in national and international networks.

Invest in Vaasa conceptualization and development project
The goal of the city of Vaasa and the Vaasa region is to remain a significant actor in the field of energy technology on European level and to further increase its importance by 2030.
The development and growth of the EnergyVaasa cluster requires establishments of new companies and investments in the area.
The project promotes the development of the industry in Vaasa region and the achievement of the goal of carbon neutrality.
During the project, conditions will be created especially for the establishment of investments in the region that strengthen the EnergyVaasa cluster.
Investments are promoted especially in relation to energy storage, hydrogen technology, offshore wind power, operators of the clean battery value chain located in GigaVaasa and the industrial, and the services of the ICT sector, that support them.
A result of the project is an efficient and productive Invest in Vaasa concept.
A plan has been drawn up for the operations and the networked way of working works efficiently.
Through the project, a wide range of actors in the region have been committed to the activities. Operators in the region and those planning to locate in Vasa have access to a material bank that facilitates access to information.
From the perspective of those planning to locate in the Vaasa region, the operations are easy, agile and safe.
The project is implemented as part of the innovation ecosystem agreement of the city of Vaasa.
